Why the name ZapMeta?

In choosing a name, we had three criteria:

First of all, we wanted a name that grabs a persons attention.Whether someone hears about us from a colleague or reads about us in the news, the name should make an impact.  We wanted the name to give off an energetic vibe and not only attract but entice that person to visit our site.

Secondly and most importantly, we wanted to keep the name short and simple - no more than three syllables and no longer than 8 letters. This is to ensure that it embeds easily into a persons memory. An easy to spell and remember name is crucial in attracting repeat visitors and gaining new ones.

Lastly, it had to be creative enough to be not only intriguing but also meaningful. ZapMeta grabbed us right from the start!

What does ZapMeta mean?

ZapMeta is not a word that exists in any dictionary; it´s simply a name we created to reflect our own definition. "Zap" is the term we use for our method of retrieving search results from multiple search engines quickly.  Just like a lightning bolt, our method is powerful and fast.  The "Meta" indicates that we are a "meta"-search engine, a type of engine that gathers results from multiple engines and directories.

What does the slogan "All Results, One Engine" mean?

ZapMeta is a meta-search engine, a search tool that searches the databases of popular internet search engines and directories such as Google, AOL, Altavista, Yahoo and Live search to name a few. Thus, "all results" mean all the results from the various search engines are collected and presented under "one engine"
